06/22/2017—Region Flyers, Lansing Municipal Airport’s newest Flight School operator announces its Aero Camp program for budding aviators aged 12 through 18. The Aero Camp program which is available through Flight Schools that are members of the Flight School Association of North America, is designed to give young people a unique opportunity to explore the vast and exciting world of aviation and aerospace at their local airport. Lansing Municipal Airport is very supportive of professionally managed youth oriented flight programs that provide a structured learning experience. 06/21/2017—From the “In Case You Were Wondering” file, IGQ is putting-up a distinguished guest for a week or so en-route to the annual EAA Oshkosh Air Venture on the Airport’s South Ramp. Steve Maloney’s mixed-media sculpture Take Me Home Huey —–a transformed boneyard U.S. Army Huey helicopter that served as an air ambulance during the Vietnam War—–will be staying with us until they can restart their northward pilgrimage to EAA Headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
06/21/2017—At its June 20th Board Meeting, the Village of Lansing approved contracts for repair and restoration of previously removed and modified windows and frames in the Historic Ford Hangar.
05/25/2017—The Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame welcomes 2 aviators with long time roots to IGQ to its distinguished list of honorees. Cynthia Madsen–flight instructor, air racer, dedicated volunteer to a number of aviation organizations and most recently, the Ninety-Nines and the Ford Hangar Foundation; and Tom Milton–pilot, aviation mechanic, educator and a current Director of the Greater Midwest Rotorcraft Club, were recently inducted into this prestigious group of Illinois Aviators. 03/21/2017—At its March 21st Board Meeting, the Village of Lansing approved an Airport Operator Master Concession Agreement with Midwest Aerospace LTD of Saint John, Indiana, to operate an MRO and related FBO services from the 3259 Airport Drive building. Along with its CAPPSCO International MRO faciltiy in Tuscon, Arizona, Midwest Aerospace will be expanding their national and international customer base from their new location at Lansing Municipal.
03/08/2017—REVISED Construction is scheduled to begin on May 1st for the Lansing Municipal Airport Security Fencing Project # IGQ 4424. IDOT Divison of aeronautics approved the contractor’s request to move back the construction start date by 1 month. The work is still expected to take 28 days (April 29th) to completion. 03/07/2017—At its March 7th Committee of the Whole meeting, the Lansing Village Board agreed to consider a proposed Airport MRO and related Aeronautical Services Concession Agreement for the 3259 Airport Drive building, at its next regularly scheduled Village Board meeting.
03/02/2017—IGQ closes the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the 3259 Airport Drive Building process. Proposal Evaluation is underway.
03/01/2017—DELAYED Due to Heavy Rains. Construction for the Lansing Municipal Airport Security Fencing Project # IGQ 4424 has been delayed. IGQ is awaiting the engineer’s Condition Report for an amended Start Date. Check-back for Updates.

02/01/2017—Construction is scheduled to begin on March 1st for the Lansing Municipal Airport Security Fencing Project # IGQ 4424. Improvements include security upgrades, operational improvements, installation along various western portions of the Airport property line and the installation of period appropriate wrought iron type fencing at the historic Ford Hangar. 04/06/2016—At its April 5th Board Meeting, the Village of Lansing approved an Airport Restaurant Concession Agreement and a 12 Midnight Liquor License for Lynnie Ques Restaurant. More details to follow.
03/23/2016—At its March 15th Committee of the Whole meeting, the Lansing Village Board agreed to consider a proposal for an Airport Restaurant at its next regularly scheduled Village Board meeting on April 5th.
